Gondor Journal Of Medicine – the digital restoration

Here’s my best attempt at restoring the title page of the GJoM to its original appearance, and then again into English. The numerals in the columns to the left of the articles are page numbers in a base twelve system. The duodecimal mode was devised by the elves, and seemingly preferred by the editors of this journal.

This issue of the GJoM appears to be from around the conclusion of the War of the Ring, or perhaps the early Fourth Age, using context from the topics discussed.

The English version (below) provides a remarkable snapshot of the important medical issues of the times. I find it fascinating that there are articles on the healing touch, a fanciful alternative treatment to modern sensibilities, yet the editorial on “ambulant wain ramping at he emergency clinic” could be lifted from contemporary headlines.
